"There is magic in starlight, of course.
This is well known. Moonlight, however.
This is a different story. Moonlight is magic.
Ask anyone you like"
Every year, the youngest baby in Protectorate is left in the forest as an offering to the witch. The people believe that the sacrifice will keep the witch from terrorizing their place.
But the witch, Xan, is very kind and gentle. Xan rescues the abandoned babies and delivers them to welcoming families on the other side of the forest, nourishing them with starlight during the journey.
One year, she accidentally feeds a baby moonlight instead of starlight, filling the ordinary child with extraordinary magic. So Xan decides to raise the girl as her own. She names her Luna. To protect Luna and everyone from the magic, Xan locks the power deep inside Luna. When Luna's 13th birthday approaches, her magic starts to come out, when Xan is away.
Meanwhile, a young man from the Protectorate is determined to free his people by killing the witch. It is up to Luna to protect her loved ones before something really bad happens.
